Exploring Oahu

We live on an island that is only 44 miles long and 30 miles wide, yet we still have not seen it all. Last weekend we drove up to the north shore for a little day trip. We stopped at the local arts fair in Haleiwa, enjoyed a delicious shave ice while checking out the paintings and carvings and such, then kept driving.
Eventually we came to the end of the road.

This is where the road along the north shore ends. There is about a 6 mile stretch of land on the northwest corner that you cannot get to. On the west side of the island you can drive as far as Makaha until you come to the end of the road on that side. So that means we have seen all the roads on Oahu, but I'm sure we will find new and interesting things to see for years to come.

Driving past the massive pineapple fields in the valley between the Koolau and Waianae mountain ranges.

At the Agricultural Fair in Honolulu we fell in love with all of the tropical flowers that we hope to plant in a backyard one of these days. This one is Jewel of Thailand.

In other news, here I am at 31 weeks.

This is baby Chance. He has been my primary baby at work for the past 14 weeks. He was born at 25 weeks, weighing only 1 lb 9 oz, but is going home today at close to 7 lbs! I love my job on days like this. To see more pictures of him you can go to the website his parents have www.helpchance.com
