Aloha

We have settled into our little place in Kapa'a. It's small, but cozy. In the pictures you can see our front door, our little lanai (the Hawaiian word for porch), and the mountian view from the lanai. There are frangipani blooming outside our window, geckos roaming around the outside walls, and the beach is about a 3 minute walk from our door. The people that we have met or run into on this island have been so kind, each and every one of them. I think that living in the big city of San Francisco for the past couple of years had made me lose my sense of "nice". Well, I have found it..or maybe it's more that the Aloha Spirit has found me.

As for the business side - Ciel is talking to some friends of friends to check out the work situation and make some connections, and I have applied for a couple of RN positions at the local hospital and clinic...so we will see what happens there in the next few weeks. In the mean time we are planning to go to the Homegrown Music Festival on Anahola beach this weekend, and I'm going to check out the local yoga studios. Tomorrow we are off to get our Hawai'i plates and drivers licenses - right now I think we may be the only two cars on the island with out of state plates!

We still have a lot of places to explore, so I'm sure there will be more pictures to come. And of course it will be big news when I actually get a job..so I will keep you updated. Aloha!

Lookin' good over there...very sweet little house. Must be a relief to have a place to settle for awhile. We leave on October 2 for Maui with Ami and Kyle in tow. They are so excited..both planning to enroll in surfing school for kids in Lahaina. Love your blog. Love you. Miss you.
