Time goes by so fast. It's hard to believe that one year ago Ciel and I were standing in the washroom at my brothers house, staring at the little stick that read "pregnant". Six weeks later we heard that little heartbeat for the first time and as time went on I was so happy to see my baby bump grow, and feel my baby moving around. It seems like so long ago, as if it was a dream that I had last night that slowly fades throughout the day.
Keeping up with a blog is hard at times, but I'm so very glad that I have done it. I realize now that along with giving our family a glimpse into our lives, it also serves as a diary of sorts for me. To go back and read about that time and see the pictures, it's a wonderful thing.
Owen is four months old now and getting so big. We are blessed with a very good baby that naps and sleeps like an angel - probably thanks to my strict sleep training. The downside to that is that he doesn't fall asleep in my arms very often. Yesterday he got his 4 month immunizations and wasn't quite feeling like himself. He woke from a nap crying, so I cuddled him until he fell asleep on my shoulder. I sat down and he wiggled himself down to my chest and settled in for a nap. Is there anything sweeter?
For the next thirty minutes I drank up every moment. I don't want to forget anything. The feel of his little hand opening and closing on my arm, like a kitten does when it's happy. The smell of his sweet breath, and the way his ears and cheeks move when he smiles, having a happy dream. I know that as time goes on Owen will keep growing and reaching milestones that are so exciting. I love watching him grow up, but I want to cherish this time when he is still small enough to curl up in my arms and fall asleep.
