Troubleshooting guide

I'm not sure how many "baby guides" are out there but I am sure that I don't have time to read them all. If only my little Owen came with a troubleshooting guide. You know, like the one that came with our new refrigerator that you can flip to the back section and find out why the ice maker might not be working. It's usually something simple like a kinked hose.
Owen is actually a very good baby. I am so happy that he hasn't had colic, he is a champion breastfeeder, and generally cries only when he has filled his diaper or is hungry. There are just a few things that leave me wondering. Like why he won't sleep in his bassinet for his daytime naps. Yesterday I tried everything to get him to nap and finally put him on the changing pad that we have on the kitchen table (yes, we are still lacking in furniture) to dress him and take him out for a while. In the time it took for me to get a onesie he was fast asleep - even with Ciel hammering the roof on the pool shed 20 feet away. Who would have thought. He also didn't take a liking to his bath time, though I think most babies don't. One evening it was so hot that we decided to take Owen into the shower with me. He loved it. That's definitely something his troubleshooting guide would have suggested.

All in all we have enjoyed our first 5 weeks together. He changes every day and is growing right before my eyes. He is a chunky 8lbs 11oz which puts him at the 25th percentile.

He does great with tummy time...for about 3 minutes. But in that time he is already picking his head all the way up by pushing with his arms.

He loves being outside and is happiest when he can look around and see the world. That is great, but as he gains weight it was getting harder for me to carry him around all the time. So I ended up getting a mei tai baby carrier. Luckily he likes it and it frees up my hands and is probably saving me a fortune in future chiropractic care. For all new or soon to be mommies out there, I highly recommend one! (mine is the FreeHand brand)

We decided to start early in getting Owen used to taking a bottle so he wouldn't have a problem when I go back to work (sniff sniff). He took it like a champ then breastfed after without any confusion. Now I just have to get used to the fact that I only have 3 more weeks at home with my little man.
